Club racing for Monohull and Multihull classes are set on traditional Olympic, Windward/Leeward and Trapezoid courses .Races are usually started using a transit line from the flag pole located at the Beach Bar. Three races a day starting at 14:00 on Saturdays and 11:00 on Sundays, unless otherwise specified in the Notice of Race.
Club regattas are held throughout the year with varying formats,including competitive class racing and longer distance races/cruises. Normally racing starts from the committee boat. Racing usually fills the daytime activities with social functions or parties in the evening. Watch out for these events in the racing schedule.
Laser, F18, 29er and Hobie 16 classes contest their national championships at the RVYC.
The RVYC has hosted 15 ISAF class world championships in as many years. In 2017 the Optimist World Championships will be coming to the club. To see the past world championships the RVYC has hosted, click here.
