Reminder for OPTIMIST class
Beginners Optimist
Friday at 10 AM is a training for beginners about the basics of racing, racing rules and tactics. Due to Khun Oat's absence the training will be done by someone else, assisted by Florian Keulers and Dylan Whitcraft. The training is in preparation for the Future Regatta on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th. Participants should have finished a beginners course and be able to handle the boat e.g. beat, reach and downwind and be able to gibe and tack. Entrance fee for the regatta is THB 300 per sailor. There will be medals for the ones placed one to five for beginners in the category under 12 and 1-5 in the category over 12 years old. The handmade perpetual trophy goes to the overall winner and has to be returned to the club the weekend before the next regatta. We are planning to have the Future's Regatta every 3 months. The initial announcement to do this race was 12 and 13 September but that has been postponed. There are a limited number of rental boats so please make your OPTI reservation with Khun Lek.
- Advanced Optimist Sailors are allowed to join the Future regatta, but are not eligible for prizes.
- Beginners Courses over the next two weekends.
